Caring & Serving Ministries

Matthew 28:19-20
Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in
the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these
new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure
of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Free Community Supper Provided Monthly

All are invited to a monthly community supper on the third Tuesday of each month from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Mount Horeb Community Center, 107 N. Grove St. The meal is sponsored by local community organizations, including Mount Horeb United Methodist Church, which spearheaded creation of the event in 2015 and still continues to coordinate today. There is no cost to attend, and everyone is welcome to visit old friends and make new ones while enjoying food, fellowship, and fun. For more information, contact mhcommunitysupper@gmail.com.

This group leads the support of local, denominational and global mission projects. They raise awareness of need and offer ways the congregation can show care to others. Items for local food pantries are collected monthly; clothing drives are seasonal. Other local efforts are also supported: Heartland Farm Sanctuary, Domestic Abuse Intervention Services (DAIS), Habitat for Humanity, The Road Home, United Methodist Children’s Services, United Methodist NOMADS, and many others. Contact the church office if you need help or are ready to help others. Call 608.437.3088 or email office@umcmh.org.

Providing Disaster Relief Around the World

UMCOR leads our disaster relief efforts around the world, helping our local contributions make a difference where they are needed most. UMCOR is dedicated to alleviating human suffering around the globe, and their work reaches people in more than 80 countries including the United States. Through this denominational relief organization, we provide humanitarian relief when war, conflict, or natural disaster disrupt life to such an extent that communities are unable to recover on their own.

We Get Involved

Our Church Members participate in NOMADS Mission Project.

"Nomads On a Mission Active in Divine Service – NOMADS provide volunteer labor for Methodist organizations. NOMADS demonstrate God’s love through our work and by listening to the people with whom we work. We do new construction, remodeling, and repairs for churches, children’s homes, camps, colleges, outreach missions and disaster rebuilding. Team members do maintenance, cleaning, painting, electrical, drywall, sewing, flooring. With God’s help, NOMADS pretty much do it all."
