In light of concerns for the well-being of all, we are cancelling in-person worship until further notice. The worship leaders will be meeting and a blended worship service combining elements of both services will be live streamed at 9:00am. You can view the service on Facebook by clicking here, and can find our order of worship by clicking here.
Celebrating God's Inclusive Love
At Mount Horeb United Methodist Church we strive to be a grace-filled, inclusive community of Christian believers dedicated to building disciples and sharing God’s love. We embrace the image of God in all humanity and affirm all - regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, race, sex, ability, ethnicity, education, faith tradition, family structure, political affiliation, social class, or physical or mental health. Everyone is welcome here.
Whether you're ready for a new church home or just exploring your options, we invite you to learn how Mount Horeb UMC can enrich your spiritual journey. Have a look around and join us on Sunday mornings to see God's work in action.
Sermon Series in Lent: Wilderness
Our worship and study theme this Lent is wilderness. As Lent begins we read about the Spirit guiding Jesus into the wilderness where he comes face to face with temptation and struggle. Yet, in his forty days of fasting, resisting, and wandering, Jesus is shaped and formed for ministry. Similarly, through the wilderness of Lent, we are invited to surrender to the wild leading of the Spirit.
Through our time in worship, study and prayer we will learn that the wilderness can become sacred and that there is no wilderness space too harsh or threatening for God’s love.
Each Sunday our worship will focus on a different wilderness theme. In addition, our connect groups will be exploring the wilderness in their own unique ways and our Wednesday worship services will contemplate our wilderness connection.
This is a special time to prepare our hearts for the joy of Easter Sunday!
