Just for Kids

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me. Don’t keep them away. The kingdom of heaven belongs to people like them.”

– Matthew 19:14 (NIRV)

Options for Children on Sunday Mornings

Children are always welcome in worship — wiggles, whispers, and all!

We know Sunday mornings aren’t always easy—and we’re so glad you made it—you're doing an amazing job! Here are some ways we try to make our worship services inviting and flexible for children and families of all kinds. During the service, don't be shy about asking an usher for help if you need anything.

  • The service is live-streamed into the main gathering space and the classroom/library at the end of the hall. If you need to leave the sanctuary to soothe, feed or walk around with your child, you won’t miss a thing.
  • A play area for toddlers and young children is located outside the main sanctuary doors. Feel free to supervise your child in this area if they are restless and need a break from the sanctuary.
  • Kids are welcome to bring activity bags into the sanctuary during worship. These are located on a rack outside the sanctuary and contain books, small games and coloring pages.
  • A family-style table is located at the back of the sanctuary providing an alternate seating option, rather than regular pews.

Teaching Moment During Worship

Near the beginning of the worship service, after the welcome and opening song, children are invited to the front of the sanctuary for a brief teaching moment just for them. We close that time with the Lord’s Prayer, helping them memorize this special prayer that Jesus taught us.

Kid's Hour During the School Year

After the teaching moment in worship, children ages 3 through 6th grade are invited to attend Kid’s Hour. This is a time of engaging lessons, stories, and activities designed just for them. All teachers are trained, background-checked, and teach in pairs. Classes are located just downstairs (accessible by stairs or elevator), and parents are always welcome to join to see what everyone is learning. If you prefer your child to stay with you in worship, that’s perfectly okay too.
